Spell Songs - In Thin Air [Vinyl]

In Thin Air is Spell Songs’ third studio album, released on vinyl. It is a musical companion to The Book of Birds, exploring the remarkable world of birds from birth to flight.

The album’s overarching narrative is inspired by the book’s Seven Wonders of Bird: nest, egg, beak, song, feather, flight and migration. Together, Spell Songs’ seven musicians create an intricate work shaped by the splendours and mysteries of birdlife and a call to halt the loss of birds from land, sea and sky.

The Spell Songs ensemble brings together Karine Polwart, Julie Fowlis, Seckou Keita, Kris Drever, Rachel Newton, Beth Porter and Jim Molyneux. The album was recorded and produced by Andy Bell of Hudson Records.
