John Coltrane - Blue Train [Limited Edition Vinyl]

Blue Train is a limited edition LP by tenor saxophonist John Coltrane, reissued on 180g vinyl with an audiophile pressing. It’s a classic 1957 jazz album for listeners exploring Coltrane’s work and bebop.

Recorded in Hackensack, New Jersey, the session gave Coltrane the chance to choose his own fellow musicians for the first time. He assembled a quintet featuring trumpeter Lee Morgan, trombonist Curtis Fuller, pianist Kenny Drew, bassist Paul Chambers and drummer Philly Joe Jones.

In a 1960 radio interview, Coltrane named Blue Train as his favourite of the albums he had recorded up to that point.
