Fimbulwinter - Servants Of Sorcery [CD]

Fimbulwinter’s Servants Of Sorcery is a hard rock and metal CD for listeners exploring the early Norwegian black metal scene. The album’s tracks were recorded in 1992, and this edition adds recordings from the band’s own tape collection.

Led by Shagrath, later known as the mainman of Dimmu Borgir, Fimbulwinter made a raw, primal and fierce recording during the rise of the second wave of Norwegian black metal. The album was originally released in 1994 and reflects the early-90s sound, with influences from 1980s metal.

This edition brings together the original material and additional recordings, including cover versions of Celtic Frost’s “Morbid Tales” and Darkthrone’s “The Watchtower”. Shagrath oversaw the work on the additional tracks, which were sourced from the band’s own tape collection.
