Description
Mojave 3 - Ask Me Tomorrow (2026 Remaster)
Originally released in October 1995, Ask Me Tomorrow by Mojave 3 offers a captivating blend of ethereal dreamscapes and discernible lyrics, recontextualized with a country-folk aesthetic. This album, remastered at Abbey Road, captures a unique sound that bridges the gap to the band's earlier work while forging a distinct path.
The recording process, described as primitive and off-the-cuff, contributed to a murky yet cool sound, enhanced by significant reverb on the vocals and bleed from recording straight to tape. This atmosphere perfectly complements the sorrowful songwriting, drawing comparisons to artists like Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake, and Mazzy Star.
Standout tracks include the transcendent opener “Love Songs on the Radio,” featuring Rachel’s angelic vocals suspended over slow, sleepwalking guitar and minimalist bass and drum flourishes. The creation of this album was a positive and exciting new beginning for the core members, fostering a collaborative and enjoyable experience.
