Dracula 2001 (2000) - DVD

Stylish, snappy, and entirely without a coherent idea in its head, Dracula 2001 reimagines the legendary vampire tale with a bold, modern twist. Presented by Wes Craven, this version unfolds as 'Dracula--the Rock Video,' blending dreamlike sequences with high-tech intrigue and pervasive product placement. The story spans London and New Orleans during Mardi Gras, following a mysterious bank heist that yields only a silver coffin and an immortal Van Helsing who survives on leech-based injections drawn from the imprisoned Dracula. With the heroine working at Virgin Records and a world filled with striking visuals, the film delivers a unique, if disjointed, take on the mythos.
