Description
Gilding the Lily is the sixth studio album from London band Desperate Journalist, presented on vinyl. It’s for listeners drawn to atmospheric indie rock, post-punk and alternative guitar music.
The album continues the band’s blend of shimmering indie rock, driving guitars and emotionally resonant songwriting, with Jo Bevan’s vocals at the centre. It follows No Hero, the band’s highest-charting release to date.
Lead single ‘Terrible Years’ brings together rampaging rhythms and a strong melodic hook, with lyrics reflecting on youth, change and mortality.
