Junius - Sotera [Vinyl]

Junius, foundational to the Boston alternative metal scene, delivers Sotera, their first new album in nearly a decade. This release reaffirms the band's enduring influence and singular vision within the Post Rock and Alternative Rock landscape. Featuring an expanded lineup, the album channels renewed precision and intensity into Junius' signature blend of cinematic post-metal and shadowed, atmospheric rock.

Album Focus and Themes

Sotera is an expansive and meditative work that explores themes of ancient feminine divinity and the fractured legacy of esoteric rites that quietly shaped early civilization. The music channels myth, ritual, and emotional gravity, resulting in a body of work that feels both timeless and urgent—an evolution honoring the band's legacy while pushing their sound deeper.

Key Personnel and Sound

The expanded lineup features founding members Joseph E. Martinez and Dana Filloon alongside Orion Wainer (Constants, Tombs), Matthew Vincenty (Glacier), and Eoghan McCarthy (Circus Trees). This collaboration brings a heightened intensity to their atmospheric rock sound.
