Pixies - Trompe le Monde [Vinyl]

Continuing the band’s 40th anniversary celebrations, Pixies are repressing their seminal 1991 studio album, Trompe le Monde, on black vinyl. This release follows the first official vinyl pressing of their 4AD B-Sides compilation.

Trompe le Monde, translated from French to mean “fool the world,” bookended a golden run of landmark records that cemented Pixies as one of the most influential bands of their generation. The album showcases the band's continued restlessness to push their sound forward. Produced by Gil Norton, it is arguably their most playful work, featuring Black Francis’s distinctive lyrics on UFOs and conspiracy theories, blended with creeping power pop that amplifies the space rock established on its predecessor, Bossanova. The album delivers 15 tracks in a brisk 40-minute salvo, proving to be the end of an era for the band before their extended hiatus.
