Pixies - Bossanova [CD]

Continuing the band’s 40th anniversary celebrations, Pixies are repressing their 1990 studio album, Bossanova, on CD. This release features newly remastered audio, with engineer Kevin Vanbergen returning to the band’s original analogue tapes to deliver stunning new masters that reveal more layers to these much-loved tracks. Bossanova is the third album from the influential alternative rock band, following their platinum-selling second album Doolittle. Produced with Gil Norton, this 1990 release showcases a less primal side of the Pixies, with surf and space rock elements rising to the fore. Lyrically, Black Francis explores cryptic themes with a recurring sci-fi influence that inspired Vaughan Oliver’s classic sleeve design. The album includes the singles ‘Allison’, ‘Dig For Fire’, and ‘Velouria’, alongside their first-ever cover song, ‘Cecilia Ann’ by The Surftones.
