Sigh - Goh-ka [CD]

Experience the latest studio album from the legendary Japanese metal pioneers, Sigh. "Goh-ka" is presented as a significant evolution, building upon the compositional and dynamic achievements of their previous work, "Shiki." This album is a meticulously crafted journey through atmosphere, technical prowess, and epic metallic grandeur.

Main-man Mirai Kawashima describes "Goh-ka" as a deeply personal work, both musically and lyrically. The sound is a potent concoction, blending elements of Celtic Frost, Voivod, Black Sabbath, horror movie soundtracks, and Japanese influences. Expect a rich tapestry woven with threads of psychedelic rock, progressive rock, and classical music, all contributing to the album's nearly hour-long duration.

The album title, "Goh-ka," carries a triple meaning: infernal fire, a world-ending conflagration, and karma. The overarching theme explores Kuso-zu, Buddhist depictions of the nine stages of decomposition, serving as a meditation on life's impermanence, the inevitability of death, and detachment from worldly beauty.
